A Letter to the Lakeland Catholic Community: Welcome Back

What a blessing it is to welcome you back to a new school year.  It is my privilege to lead Lakeland Catholic Schools as Superintendent.

We believe that God has called us by name, for a specific task, a vocation, and today it brings us such joy to welcome our students, staff, and families, because we know that you are uniquely qualified to use your gifts and talents to benefit our community.

The theme of this year is accompany. This year we look forward to the invitation and promise that accompaniment holds. Jesus promises that he is with us until the end, and with the Holy Spirit our as constant companion we are rooted firmly in faith. Accompaniment also means relationship. After the past few years of disruption, we long for connection. As we accompany one another, let us be present to one another, celebrating our joys, and leaning into any struggles. This idea simply and powerfully aligns with Lakeland Catholic’s vision statement, Christ our model Children our Focus.

This year we have much to anticipate: new curriculum, continued literacy and numeracy interventions, athletics, and fine arts, parent volunteers and engagement, many more dynamic activities to build vibrant school communities. We look forward to a rewarding and successful year, where our children will thrive in faith filled learning environments.

May God bless you, and I look forward to connecting with each and every one of you in the upcoming school year.
