Letter: End of 2021-22 School Year

Dear Lakeland Catholic Community,

Thank you for the many extraordinary ways that you have given hope and supported your school community this year.

As Catholic Christians, we mark our lives by seasons, such as school days, liturgical seasons, division calendar, in-school and out-of-school activity schedules, and the much anticipated holidays.

Ecclesiastics 3: 1-8 reminds us that “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”

We have just come out of a school year that has been deemed the most challenging that school divisions and the families they serve have experienced, fraught with uncertainty and burdens, but, as Gospel Witnesses, you leaned in, showing up for one another. With grace, empathy, determination, and faith, you overcame daily challenges and together triumphed through that difficult season.

Now, we are entering into a season, a time that encourages us to Rebuild, Renew, and Restore Together, which was also the theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week.

This summer, I invite you to take the time to focus on what is precious in your lives, rebuilding your family foundations, renewing your relationships, and restoring your physical, mental, and spiritual health.

May the Spirit of the Living God continue to inspire, bless, and keep you safe.

Yours in Christ,

Pamela Guilbault, Superintendent
