New Principal named for St. Dominic Elementary

COLD LAKE - With two decades of educational experience, Jacqueline Densmore was ready for a new challenge: Principal of St. Dominic Elementary School.

Jacqueline was born and raised in Cold Lake and attended St. Dominic Parish every Sunday with her family. Becoming Principal of the local elementary school felt like coming full circle.

Over the last 20 years, Jacqueline has worked as a student assistant, teacher, and vice principal in schools across the Lakeland.

“I have always had a passion for helping others grow and become the best versions of themselves - whether they’re students, staff, or the greater community,” Jacqueline said. “In all of my former roles, this has proven to be very rewarding.”

Jacqueline graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Yorkville University.

In her new role, Jacqueline looks forward to having a positive influence on the students, leading St. Dominic Elementary staff into a new school year, while connecting with the community.

“I hope to build relationships with everyone so we can work together to enhance student learning at St. Dominic Elementary.”

When she isn’t on her bike training for the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer fundraiser, Jacqueline enjoys kayaking and spending time with her family.

As she prepares to step into this new position, Jacqueline said, “I am confident I can lead St. Dominic Elementary, working with staff across Lakeland Catholic, to ensure we continue to provide excellent permeated learning to all students.”

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,

who have been called according to his purpose.”
