École Notre Dame Elementary is making a difference in a fun way!
The school held a food drive ahead of the Christmas break, collecting boxed non-perishable food items, which were lined up like dominos!

Our students are incredible!
Yesterday, students from École Notre Dame Elementary School got a helping hand writing letters to Santa and reading stories in English and French from École Notre Dame High School Religion students.

This From Student to Staff features a familiar face... Rachel Reid!
Rachel attended Lakeland Catholic Schools and now serves the division as Principal at École Notre Dame Elementary School!
"I chose to return to Lakeland Catholic for many reasons, however, having my family nearby and being able to teach in a Catholic school division, became top priorities in my life. Being able to share God's love with the students and staff of LCSD is a gift and brings a smile to my heart daily. Working in a small school division where you know other teachers and administrators is invaluable. I am glad I came back to LCSD and know we are making change in the world."

Today's From Student to Staff feature is...
Paulette Coleman!
Paulette works as an educational assistant at École Notre Dame Elementary! She attended our Bonnyville schools from Grade 1 to 9!
"I chose Notre Dame elementary school because of my passion to work with children . I enjoy teaching children social and academic skills that will empower them throughout their life. I appreciate the professional direction for students and staff to guide the children in learning how to make good choices, gain awareness of how their behaviour impacts others, and how to better express their thoughts and emotions which will in turn help prepare them for their journey in life."

Children lack the life experience of adults and have fewer strategies to cope with stress, however, we can teach them mental and physical strategies to relieve stress and how to better respond to stressful situations.
Lakeland Family Resource Network, Bonnyville and District FCSS, and Lakeland Catholic School Division are offering two Kids Have Stress Too information sessions.
Childcare is available!
Join us for one of two sessions: Monday, December 4 at École Notre Dame Elementary (targeted for Preschool to Grade 4) and/or Tuesday, December 5 at Dr. Brosseau School (targeted for Grades 5 through 9).
Register by email at tvanhappen@lrcssd.ca or by phone at 780-826-2120.

This From Student to Staff feature is... Anick Croteau!
Now working at our central office as our secretary, Anick attended École Notre Dame Elementary, Dr. Bernard Brosseau, and École Notre Dame High!
"When I returned to Bonnyville in 2010 after living in Edmonton for 15 years, to me, the ideal place to seek work would be at Lakeland Catholics Schools. It was a sense of familiarity as I come from several generations of people that have worked for this school division. I've been here now almost ten years and hope to have many more years serving Lakeland Catholic."
