Track & Field Day at NDH & AJSH!
Despite the cold temperatures, students from Notre Dame High and Assumption Jr/Sr High hit the track at Walsh Field with determination and spirit. From hurdles to long jumps, it was a day full of energy, effort, and school pride - rain, wind, and all! Thank you to all the students, staff, and volunteers who braved the chilly weather!

Thank you to MP Laila Goodridge for visiting with our students at Assumption School. Ms Goodridge shared stories about her time serving as a Member of Parliament and encouraged students to see links between lessons in Social Studies and becoming active citizens in the world they live in.
Our administrative team from Assumption Jr/Sr High School delivered an insightful presentation recapping the wonderful celebrations and areas of progress from this school year. We also got a glimpse into the innovative education plans for 2025-2026!

Grade 6 students, from Holy Cross Elementary School and St. Dominic’s Elementary School, were bused to Assumption School on Wednesday and welcomed by our amazing AJSH student leaders. After gathering in the gym for introductions, trivia, and prizes, students rotated through exciting stations completely planned and led by our student helpers. This included school tours, dodgeball and other gym activities, as well as games and icebreakers led by YLL (Youth Liturgical Leadership). We wrapped up the morning with a pizza lunch before our guests headed back to their respective schools. What a fantastic day of connection and fun! A big shoutout to our student leaders for creating such a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for our future crusaders!
Grade 10 students from AJSH enjoyed a wonderful field trip to the Career Expo in Bonnyville on Thursday. The students were able to experience some hands-on learning about exciting career pathways and opportunities in the Lakeland!
On Thursday, two of our amazing students helped lead the way in honouring the Moose Hide Campaign — a national movement to end violence against women and children. They prepared and shared fresh bannock with their peers and handed out moose hide pins as a symbol of their commitment to creating a safer future for all. Sharing the Faith: Celebrating the Discipleship of Catholic School Teachers
Teachers and principals from all schools gathered for Mass and a Sharing the Faith celebration honouring Year 1 and Year 2 teachers who are growing in their vocation and embracing what it means to be Catholic educators.
From praying before games and exams to leading music ministry and creating space for spiritual reflection, these teachers are living the mission of Catholic education each day. Their work is already making a meaningful difference—helping students feel seen, supported, and connected to their faith in ways that last a lifetime.
Their commitment to forming the whole child, mind, body, and spirit - through Gospel witness and intentional Catholic teaching exemplifies faith in action.

On Thursday, AJSH students attended the 7th annual Battle of the Books at the Cold Lake Public Library. We are so proud to announce that our two teams brought back both first and second place! The amount of reading and studying that each one of the students has done over the past few months has been phenomenal, and it paid off for them on Thursday! Well done AJSH!!
