On June 2nd and 3rd, Assumption welcomed performances by the Kikino Northern Lites Dancers and Cold Lake First Nations. Both performances were in celebration of the upcoming Indigenous Peoples Day, celebrated this year on June 21st.
Students listened to the meaning behind cultural dances and were invited to participate and learn alongside the performers. A huge thank you to Dani Moore and the CLFN Education Department for helping to bring these learning opportunities to our students!

June's Catholic Social Teaching: Peace
As our teacher and example, Jesus showed us that peace is built through love, understanding, forgiveness, and respect for one another.
This month, we reflect on how we can be peacemakers in our schools, homes, and communities.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." — Matthew 5:9
