Bus Status App
Lakeland Catholic currently uses the Bus Status App to keep families informed of route delays and cancellations. Notifications can be enabled through the app after selecting your child’s bus route. This app will remain active for the current school year.
Here Comes the Bus
We are excited to announce the launch of Here Comes the Bus, now in soft rollout across the Division. This new app provides GPS-based, real-time tracking of your child's school bus, offering improved convenience and accuracy for families.
Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, Here Comes the Bus will replace Bus Status as Lakeland Catholic’s primary bus communication tool.
We encourage families to explore the app now in preparation for the transition.
Attendance Boundaries
We expect students to attend their local school and have established attendance areas for transportation purposes and for effective use of school facilities. Lakeland Catholic School Division believes the responsibility for busing students to and from a student's local school - within these specific attendance boundaries - rests with us.
Therefore, we expect parents/guardians to provide their own transportation when students attend a school that is outside their attendance area.
Please contact the transportation department if you need further clarification on busing boundaries and zones.
Inclement Weather
School buses will not run when:
The wind chill is equivalent to or exceeds –40 degrees Celsius
The outside air temperature is equivalent to or exceeds –40 degrees Celsius
Cancellations will be communicated on this website, under "Bus Schedule", on Facebook, using the Bus Status app, and on the radio stations indicated in the Transportation Policy.
Bus Status App
Did you know Lakeland Catholic has a Bus App where you can stay up-to-date on your child’s bus status?
You can even receive notifications that let you know if there’s a delay or cancellation.
The app is free to download from the Apple Store or Google Play. Once you’ve downloaded the app you select your child’s bus and you will receive push notifications when there’s information pertaining to your child’s bus route.
