Supporting Student Success

Lakeland Catholic School Division exceeds Alberta Education's minimum instructional hour requirements:

• Grades 1–9: 971.5 instructional hours (minimum requirement: 950 hours)

• Grades 10–12: 1,026.5 instructional hours (minimum requirement: 1,000 hours)

This additional instructional time supports student learning, intervention, enrichment, and achievement while ensuring students benefit from high-quality educational experiences throughout the school year.

Throughout the school year, Lakeland Catholic School Division dedicates time to professional learning, collaboration, and faith formation through its Pathways to Excellence framework. These opportunities allow staff to strengthen instructional practices, support student achievement, and continue building welcoming Catholic learning environments where every student is known, valued, and supported.
