Our Hiring Incentives, Bursaries and Grants
At Lakeland Catholic School Division, we take pride in the incredible opportunities for new and current teaching staff. Our division has developed Hiring Incentives, Bursaries and Grants for new teachers, which are outlined below.
Effective January 17, 2024, Lakeland Roman Catholic Separate School Division provides a range of incentives to support teachers who are newly hired with the Division. These incentives are intended to help offset costs related to education, relocation, and the transition into teaching with Lakeland Catholic.
Unless otherwise specified, each incentive may only be accessed once for the duration of an individual’s employment with the Division and is not available to individuals who have previously been employed by Lakeland Roman Catholic Separate School Division in any teaching capacity.
Eligible individuals will be contacted by the Division’s Human Resources Department and provided with an incentive agreement outlining the applicable terms and conditions. Relocation Grant | Depending on their location, teachers may be eligible to receive up to $3,000 in relocation funding |
Bursary for Returning Grads | Lakeland Catholic graduates who are hired as teachers are eligible for a one-time bursary of $2,500 |
Subsidized Teacher Housing | Our division offers Subsidized Teacher Housing in Cold Lake |
Northern Alberta Teacher Award | The Northern Alberta Teacher Award (NATA) has replaced the Northern Student Teacher Bursary (NSTB) as an incentive for recent Bachelor of Education graduates to begin their careers in a northern community. Northern Alberta Teacher Award | Alberta.ca |
