About the Naming Process
Lakeland Catholic School Division is undertaking a thoughtful, faith-centred process to name the proposed new Catholic Collegiate High School in Cold Lake.
A Catholic school's name becomes part of its identity, traditions, culture and legacy. The naming process is guided by Board Policy 20 – Naming of Educational Facilities and Administrative Procedure 119, with opportunities for community input, committee discernment, diocesan consultation and final consideration by the Board of Trustees.

Our Naming Process
Potential names are considered in relation to Lakeland Catholic's Catholic identity and mission, the Catholic Collegiate model, the Cold Lake community and the naming priorities established in Board Policy 20.
The Board of Trustees retains final authority for approval of the school's name.
June 2026 | Committee Formation
Naming Committee established.
September 2026 | Community Input
Community invited to submit potential school names.
October 2026 | Committee Review
Submissions reviewed and potential names developed.
November–December 2026 | Board & Diocesan Consultation
Potential names proceed through Board engagement and diocesan consultation.
Winter 2026–27 | Identity Development
Brand, colours and design concepts are explored.
February 2027 | Board Consideration
Final naming recommendation presented to the Board of Trustees for formal consideration.
