LAKELAND - Lakeland Catholic School Division is launching a new initiative through the Mental Health Matters Campaign, and it’s all about being kind.

This year, thanks to the continued support from Imperial Cold Lake, the division is expanding its Mental Health Matters Campaign to include a new endeavour: Kindness in Action Initiative.

Starting November, each of our schools will select two Kindness Champions – students who have gone above and beyond to foster a safe and caring learning environment at their school.

These students will receive a certificate and mental wellness bag, and at the end of the year, will be entered into a draw to win one of two grand prizes.

“Every day we have students doing wonderful things to make our schools even better places to learn and grow,” said LCSD Communications Officer Meagan MacEachern. “Whether it’s picking up litter on the playground, volunteering for a local organization, or going the extra mile to make someone’s day, we want to recognize these students for continuously showing kindness at their school.”
