Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to Lakeland Catholic School Division. We provide faith-based education in caring and inspiring environments where every child is valued and supported.

Across our eight schools, more than 2,700 students are served in the communities of Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, and Waskatenau. Families can access English programming in all of our schools, while French Immersion is offered in Bonnyville and Cold Lake from Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Guided by our vision: Christ Our Model. Children Our Focus.—our pursuit of excellence shapes every aspect of school life. From academics and athletics to extra-curricular opportunities and student supports, we are committed to helping each child grow in knowledge, character, and faith. Our Mental Health Matters Campaign further ensures that well-being remains at the heart of this work.

We also hold fast to the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta: “Do small things with great love.” It is in these daily acts of faith and service that our schools make a lasting difference.

I invite you to take time to explore our website and discover the many opportunities Lakeland Catholic has to offer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our central office (780-826-3764) or the Lakeland Catholic School in your community.

God Bless,

Student and Staff Safety

The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority. While schools are among the safest places in our communities, emergencies can happen anywhere at any time.

Lakeland Catholic has a comprehensive emergency response plan in place to ensure we are ready to respond effectively. Each of our schools has an on-site emergency team, supported by a division-level response team. Lakeland Catholic also has an OH&S committee with a representative from each school. Our plans are reviewed regularly and developed in close partnership with local emergency services to ensure a coordinated approach.

Throughout the school year, staff and students practice safety drills such as fire drills, lockdowns, and shelter-in-place procedures so that everyone is prepared to respond calmly and quickly if a real emergency arises. These rehearsals not only strengthen our preparedness but also help reduce fear and uncertainty in a crisis situation.

We ask for the continued support of our families in following school procedures and emergency communication protocols. By working together, we ensure that every child is cared for and protected.
