Bus Driver Appreciation Day 🚌

Today we thank our bus drivers for the care, reliability, and consistency they bring to our school communities each day. You are often the first and last connection students have with their school day, and that matters.

École Notre Dame Elementary enjoyed a beautiful day for their Happy Mind Day, proudly taking part in Lakeland Catholic’s Mental Health Matters campaign.

With the generous support of Imperial Oil, students explored positive affirmations, calming strategies, and simple ways to support their mental health—building tools they can use every day. Students also decorated their own treat bags through mindful colouring before visiting each station, creating a special keepsake to take home.

It was the perfect way to welcome spring while building skills that support well-being each day.

A sincere thank you to the staff at École Notre Dame Elementary for the thoughtful planning and care that made this day so meaningful for students.

We were honoured to welcome Colonel Hickey, CWO Oliveira, and Captain O’Brien to Assumption Jr./Sr. High School for a recent visit and tour.

The visit highlighted the strong learning environment at Assumption, where students are supported in their growth—academically, spiritually, and as future contributors to their communities, reflecting the strengths of Catholic education in action.

Following the tour, a collaborative discussion took place focused on supporting the needs of families connected to 4 Wing and CFB Cold Lake and the City of Cold Lake.

Lakeland Catholic School Division also shared information about future opportunities, including its capital priority— the Catholic Collegiate High School project in Cold Lake, supporting K–to–careers pathways, workforce readiness, and lifetime investment in students and the region.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect and look forward to continued collaboration in support of students and families.

📚 Inspiring Young Writers at ÉNDE

École Notre Dame Elementary was pleased to welcome Bonnyville author Sean Seitz on Friday for a presentation with the whole school.

Sean shared his journey as a writer and spoke about where ideas come from, how stories take shape, and why writing matters. He encouraged students to see themselves as authors, reminding them that everyone has a story worth telling.

Students also enjoyed a sneak peek of an upcoming children’s book, which sparked plenty of curiosity and excitement.

Thank you, Mr. Seitz, for visiting ÉNDE and for encouraging a love of reading and writing, while helping students see the value of Canadian authors and the stories rooted in our own communities.
