Our next From Student to Teacher feature is... Katie Earle! Katie is a chemistry and biology teacher at École Notre Dame High School. Before becoming a teacher, she attended our Cold Lake schools, graduating from Assumption Jr/Sr High! "Lakeland Catholic has always been home for me. I loved my teachers and wanted to be able to work with them and continue learning from them." #LCSDJoy

This From Student to Staff feature is... Anick Croteau! Now working at our central office as our secretary, Anick attended École Notre Dame Elementary, Dr. Bernard Brosseau, and École Notre Dame High! "When I returned to Bonnyville in 2010 after living in Edmonton for 15 years, to me, the ideal place to seek work would be at Lakeland Catholics Schools. It was a sense of familiarity as I come from several generations of people that have worked for this school division. I've been here now almost ten years and hope to have many more years serving Lakeland Catholic." #LCSDJoy

This From Student to Teacher feature is... Rachelle Allen! Rachelle was once a student at École Notre Dame Elementary School, and is now a teacher at the school! She also attended Dr. Bernard Brosseau School and École Notre Dame High School. "I came back to Bonnyville after graduating University in Edmonton because of a maternity leave position that opened up. When I was welcomed by such an amazing and supportive team I knew this was the place to lay my roots." #LCSDJoy

This Student to Teacher feature highlights Abygahil Campos Retana! Now a teacher at Holy Family Catholic, Abygahil was once a student at our Bonnyville schools! She returned to Lakeland Catholic as a teacher because she wanted to teach in a division that felt like family and puts children first. "It was during my time as a student at Lakeland Catholic that I discovered I wanted to be a teacher... I want to inspire and make a difference in children's lives, the way my teachers and mentors at Lakeland Catholic did for me." #LCSDJoy

Check out this Student to Teacher feature! Morgan Murray attended Lakeland Catholic Schools in Bonnyville from Kindergarten to Grade 12! Morgan is now teaching at Assumption Jr/Sr High School! "I came back to teach with the division because it has always felt like home. Coming back to teach, I am teaching with colleagues who were my teachers at one point, and teaching students whose parents I know… growing up in a Catholic school gave me the ability to experience God and experience the values of being a Christian. I believe in the values that Catholic Education offers its students, due to the way it has influenced me growing up." #LCSDJoy

Last night, former LCSD student Sarah Kraushaar received the Justice Kevin Feehan Catholic Education Scholarship, which is awarded to annually to a full-time student at St. Joseph's College, University of Alberta, and St. Mary's University who shows a commitment to promoting and living Catholic Education values. Sarah accepting the honours during the ACSTA banquet. #LCSDJoy

Our next from Student to Teacher feature is... Tanis Beida! Tanis is a teacher at Holy Cross Elementary, and a former LCSD student! "I am thrilled to return to Lakeland Catholic as a teacher, a place that holds a special place in my heart. Having been a student here, I experienced firsthand the incredible impact of its dedicated teachers and the positive learning environment they foster. Lakeland Catholic is not just a place of education for me; it's where all my best memories were made. Now, I am eager to contribute to this nurturing community and play a role in creating lasting memories for the next generation of students." #LCSDJoy

This From Student to Staff feature is... Elaine Ernst! Graduate and now Principal at Assumption Jr/Sr High, Elaine is often quoted saying "I bleed blue." "The reason I became a teacher is because I always enjoyed school and my time as a student at Assumption School. It is such a joy now to be able to work at the school I once attended. I've been able to work alongside some of my former teachers and now have the pleasure of working with some of my former students. It really is amazing to see all of the former Lakeland Catholic alumni that have been called to teaching in our communities."

And our next Student to Staff feature is.... Megan Anctil! Megan spent her entire elementary, middle, and high school years attending Lakeland Catholic Schools in Cold Lake! Now, she works as the Human Resources Secretary and SIS Assistant at our Central Office! "Lakeland Catholic has truly become my second home, and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced my formative years as a student and now as a member of the staff." #LCSDJoy

Check out this Student to Staff feature! Sydney Thackeray is a graduate of École Notre Dame High School and has returned to the school as Family Outreach Worker! "As a former graduate of NDHS, Lakeland Catholic will always hold a special place in my heart. It is where I learned the importance of community, authenticity and faith. It gave me the foundation to explore the world and find out who I am and who I want to be. Returning to NDHS as a FOW has given me the opportunity to give back to the community that cared for and supported me as a student." #LCSDJoy

This Student to Teacher feature is all about Sofia Bouchard! A former LCSD student, Sofia was thrilled to come back and teach in the community she grew up in! Our next From Student to Teacher feature is... Megan Lanceleve! Megan is currently on maternity leave, and is the vice principal of École Notre Dame Elementary! When she attended Lakeland Catholic Schools she said it felt like family. "When starting my teaching career I knew that was something I wanted and I knew exactly where I could find that. I also knew that Lakeland Catholic valued high quality instruction and put time and effort into developing their teachers skills in this area. I knew that returning would allow me to grow my practice in an environment that was innovative and supportive." #LCSDJoy

This From Student to Teacher feature is.... Amy Lang! Not only was Amy a former Dr. Bernard Brosseau student, but she has returned as a teacher! "Retuning back to Bonnyville and teaching at LCSD was the best decision I could have made! I wanted to be able to give back to our amazing community, and create lasting memories within our schools, just as I was able to experience myself as a student." #LCSDJoy

Our next From Student to Teacher feature is... Domini Hallett! Domini is a teacher at École Notre Dame High! She is an NDHS graduate, and also attended École Notre Dame Elementary, and Dr. Bernard Brosseau School! She joined LCSD as a teacher because she "liked the schools and my teachers as a kid, and I like that I am able to be close to home." #LCSDJoy
