Lakeland Catholic Schools Mourns Pope Francis
Novena for the Repose of His Holiness (Day 9)
Merciful and loving God, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and sorrow as we remember Your servant, Pope Francis. You called him to be a shepherd to Your people, a voice for the poor, and a sign of Your mercy to the world. As we entrust him to Your eternal care, we ask You to welcome him into the joy of Your heavenly kingdom. Grant him peace, and give us strength to carry forward the light of his witness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for the Church: As we commend Pope Francis to Your mercy, we pray for the Church he loved and served. May the Holy Spirit guide those who will choose the next pope. May the Church continue to shine with the light of Christ, inspired by Pope Francis’s life of service, humility, and love.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be…
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

By His wounds, we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5
On this sacred day, we pause in reverence and reflection.
May the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross lead us to deeper compassion, greater humility, and a renewed commitment to love one another as He loves us.
Let us carry this message in our hearts and extend kindness to all those around us.
