Lakeland Catholic School Division joins the community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School community, and School District No. 59 in mourning the tragic events of February 10.
In sorrow, we turn to the promise of God’s nearness:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
We lift in prayer those who have died, their families and friends, students and staff, and all who are grieving. In times when words fall short, we trust in Christ, who draws near to the suffering and brings light into the darkest places.
Let us pray:
God of compassion and mercy,
You are our refuge and strength in every trial.
Be present to the people of Tumbler Ridge in their grief.
Surround families with Your peace.
Steady young hearts that feel shaken.
Grant wisdom to those leading this community forward.

“As a salon owner, I’m incredibly proud to have Hayden as a RAP student. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring many young stylists, and it’s rewarding to support students as they grow into confident professionals,” shares owner Tammy Hebert.
Through RAP, students like Hayden gain hands-on experience, earn while they learn, and develop real-world industry skills. Hayden brings enthusiasm, initiative, and a strong work ethic to every part of the salon, while continuing to build her cosmetology skills at École Notre Dame High School with Ms. Gaugler.
