École Notre Dame Elementary enjoyed a beautiful day for their Happy Mind Day, proudly taking part in Lakeland Catholic’s Mental Health Matters campaign.
With the generous support of Imperial Oil, students explored positive affirmations, calming strategies, and simple ways to support their mental health—building tools they can use every day. Students also decorated their own treat bags through mindful colouring before visiting each station, creating a special keepsake to take home.
It was the perfect way to welcome spring while building skills that support well-being each day.
A sincere thank you to the staff at École Notre Dame Elementary for the thoughtful planning and care that made this day so meaningful for students.

Our EAL students at Lakeland Catholic had a blast exploring more Stephanie’s Ponytail by Robert Munsch today!
Inspired by the story, these girls bravely tried almost every wild hairstyle from the book… except one!
Ms. Sherry’s secret to student success? Joy. When students are laughing, they’re not only learning—they’re remembering. From building vocabulary to growing confidence, a love for learning truly makes a difference.

Celebrating Faith and New Beginnings at École Notre Dame High School
With great joy, we celebrate five students from École Notre Dame High School who have completed their Sacraments of Initiation through the Order of Christian Initiation for Teens (OCIT): Kalen, Tennesse, Alexsis, Shannon, and Luc.
Surrounded by their families, teachers, and peers, these students celebrated this meaningful milestone at St. Louis Parish on April 16, with Fr. Rene Realuyo.
OCIT is a faith formation program that supports students in Grades 9–12 as they prepare for Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion—guiding them as they take this important step in their faith journey.
We welcome these students into the full life of the Catholic Church community and pray for their continued spiritual growth. May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them as they live out their calling as disciples of Christ.

Last evening, our administrative and senior leadership teams had the privilege of learning from Elder Robert and Elder Linda of Cold Lake First Nations.

Through stories, language, and lived experience, they shared an in-depth understanding of Dene Sųłiné culture, history, and traditional teachings. They spoke to the importance of preserving language and culture for future generations, and the responsibility we all share in ensuring this knowledge continues forward.
Elder Linda was particularly thoughtful in sharing perspectives that highlighted connections between Indigenous teachings and Catholic values—especially in areas of faith, prayer, respect, and community.
Throughout the evening, they emphasized values of sharing, kindness, humility, independence, and a strong focus on the future—principles that guide both community and leadership.
This morning, Elder Linda joined us again for a traditional smudging, offering a time for reflection as we began our day together.
